SPECIAL CARRIED COVERS OF KARANATAKA POSTAL CIRCLE
India post has released various carried covers to mark the special events.,like covers carried by hovercraft,by tableau,by harkara,by toy train ,by boat,by horse cart and even by drone.
I am sharing some of carried covers of Karnataka.
FIRST HOT AIR BALLOON FLIGHT COVER:
This was carried in 14/11/1963,Ballon took off from race course ground Bangalore at 12.05pm and ended at Cholanayaknhalli village ,Thippagondanhalli P.O of Bengaluru district.Mr D.N Ramachandran PMG Mysuru circle handed philatelic mail to pilot H.Jo.Sheer of First Balloon Mail Flight with one Co-pilot and an Indian youngster Anil Kumar of Bangalore.

A special post cards were carried from Jakkur airport to Children's village

Mahatma Gandhiji visit to Karanataka
After returning from South Africa,Gandhiji travelled throughout India for freedom movement,social reforms for rising funds.Gandhiji visited Karanataka 18 times .Following are the some of places he visited
Gandhiji visited Karanataka first in 1915 to Bengaluru with Kastrba and his two daughters,D V Gundappa invited him .He unveiled the porttrait of his Rajya guru Gopal Krishna Gokhle in Government High school
Gandhiji visited Bengaluru later in 1920,1927,1934 and 1936

The 39th congress sessionwas held in Belgavi for two days.Gandhiji arrived at session on Dec 26 1936 morning,before the session begin,He was president for this historical session.He addressed the gathering and told the importance of non violence.He had put up a tent near vaccine depot without having stay in anyone's home
